This is what all the fighting was about. To get those bus ads out there following Moonlight's cancellation and the release of the actors from their contract. The idea was hatched at the beginning of July. From aussiestw's timeline:
21 Jul Leeser hears from the printer regarding the bus ads (Leeser)
27 Jul Proposed graphic finalized and forwarded to printer (Leeser)
31 Jul Waiting on the bus ads to be printed (Leeser)
05 Aug Bus ads would be up by 18 Aug (Leeser). Which never happened. Until now. Thanks to kaysspleen's very public and proper $11,000 lament and the fandom's outrage.
Leeser/Lisa Gerry has scams all over the net. It made some wonder if the ads were even real!

My best bud, lighterthanair, deduced the right spot from the ad agency's pix. She saw two buses, 20 minutes apart, and one while she was on the road. She took this one quickly at the bus stop at Sunset and Highland. She adds:
Tell them that I took the pic at the corner of Sunset and Highland and that the bus was going north on Highland toward Hollywood Blvd. The steeple with the AIDS ribbon slightly to the north of Hollywood Blvd.

Correction to your post. The first talk of the bus ads was on July 27th not right after Moonlight was canceled.
Well considering I wrote the first to Lesser on July 18th I'd say someone has miss information. kays
